Frequently Asked Questions
The Arundel Gallery Trail is open to all artists. Started in 1989 and now in its 23rd year. Founded by Derek Davis, Renee Bodimeade, Ann Sutton and Oliver Hawkins. The philosophy of the Arundel Gallery Trail is to provide visitors with the opportunity to see artwork created by new and established local artists, in historic houses and gardens, which are not normally open to the public.
Who can take part?
All artists living within the BN18 (Arundel) postcode.
I am not a local resident - can I still take part?
Yes, you just need to be sponsored by an existing Arundel Artist/Resident. We do not have a selection process, but ask that another Arundel Artist be prepared to sponsor you by confirming that they know your work and consider it to be appropriate for the Arundel Gallery Trail.
Artists' Work
Only your own original work must be exhibited during the Arundel Gallery Trail. It is important that the Arundel Gallery Trail retains its high reputation as an Art Trail where original, innovative, unique and creative work can be seen.
Registration
All artists are required to complete the registration form available from the end of January. The closing date this year is Friday 20th April 2012. Please note, late registrations will not be accepted.

Each artist is responsible for finding their own venue. The website has a forum for artists looking for a venue.
Venue Opening times
Artists are requested to open their venues each day of the Arundel Gallery Trail. The trail commences on Saturday 18th August and closes at the end of the Bank Holiday Monday 27th August. During weekends and Bank holidays venues should be open from 12 noon until 5:30. During the week opening times are 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm. If you can be present this is recommended as visitors like to speak to the artist as this enhances their experience of the Trail.
Venue Flags
We will provide each venue with a Venue Flag and directional arrows. Please let us know if your venue is 'off the beaten track'.
