Dena Watson started Krafty Kids as a result of constantly providing art and craft activities for her children and their many friends. With this in mind Dena decided to rent a hall and provide art and craft projects to the wider community and this proved to be very popular and lots of fun for Dena and the children who often attended. At the Krafty Kids workshops the children would use a theme as a starting point and after a few hours of creative licence the children would take home their master piece. Although this was working very well for Dena she always longed for a permanent place of residency. This would mean that Dena could keep all her materials stored, so that the children could be more organic with their art projects, with the opportunities to access different art and craft supplies. So in January 2010 when Dena had the opportunity to rent a permanent spot in Arundel, she jumped at the chance and opened the Krafty Kids Studio. This space is on the ground floor at The Victoria Institute, Tarrant Street, Arundel and although small it is wonderful. Krafty Kids now provides after school art classes for children aged 4 years and upwards and pre school clubs for 3 and 4 year olds. Dena also runs a Saturday morning drop and shop art club as well as holiday workshops and is always supplying arts and craft activities for children’s parties.

Last year for ‘The Arundel Gallery Trail’ Dena and the Krafty Kids displayed ‘Darwin Bugs’ above the Coffee bar in Sparks Yard, Tarrant Street, which looked spectacular but this year Dena will be filling her art studio with magnificent pieces of work created by the many children who attend Krafty Kids. Please visit the Studio during the Art Gallery Trail to view the art work and talk to Dena about up and coming Krafty Kids Projects.
