Jon Everitt is an illustrator, designer and painter living on the south coast. He likes to paint fairly odd things.
Jon paints mainly in acrylics but also produces work in water colour and has recently embraced wood engraving.
“My work has been called surreal (that most overused word) and Magic Realist but I hope that it stands out on its own as being representative of my own vision of the world.
“I want the viewer to feel part of the narrative that is present in the picture and to have the freedom to interpret for themselves what the story surrounding the image really is.
“I feel that the title is a hugely important part of the painting and is completely inseparable from the rest of the work it provides both a clue and a puzzle. I could never call anything “Untitled.
“Although this sounds very serious the work is there for having fun with and for spinning stories, myths and wonderful-eye stretching lies about.”
