Sarah Howson graduated from the Royal College of Art and has since worked in Venice, New York and London. Her textile design ranges from High Street to catwalk, while she also works as a costume maker for major feature films including Pride and Prejudice, the Da Vinci Code, Nanny McPhee and the Harry Potter franchise.

Sarah’s fine-art work employs the use of mixed media with a view to abstracting the landscape in an exploration of colour and scale. The work for the 2010 gallery trail is derived from land and seascape, including a number of studies of nearby Clymping Beach.

The work is displayed in Sarah’s own studio, which she has opened up for the third time for the Arundel Gallery Trail as a two-woman show with her Royal College of Art contemporary, Alison Cant.
