Vanda Zebrak has immersed herself in her art full time for the past year since she moved to Arundel following a career in the veterinary profession. Her latest embroideries are influenced by the countryside of West Sussex and the historical architecture of Arundel. These new embroideries together with some of her other recent work have been reproduced as fine art limited edition prints. Vanda has always loved and been inspired by the visual effects of light in the woodlands and gardens of the countryside and the interaction of colour and light through the seasons. This has been the motivation behind her work in embroidery, ink painting and hand painted ceramics. For the past year, in collaboration with her partner Peter Smyth, she has designed, developed and created a collection of glass art that echoes her earlier work and captures her inspiration. Glass is a wonderfully natural and flexible medium and unlike any other in its ability to both transmit and reflect light. The glass art collection will have been launched in the summer of 2011 and will form the main feature of Vanda’s work at the Gallery Trail.
