As an Artist/Maker simplicity and balance are key to Sylvia’s practice, often working in series with organic reference.Taking a flat sheet of silver and fabricating it into a 3D wearable object can be both challenging and rewarding as a maker. To create a piece of jewellery that fits the human form allowing for movement and comfort is paramount to the success of the work.Sylvia loves to collect tools, especially old ones that have a history of their own. Hammers all make different marks and shapes. She has favourite tools for different processes and finds balance and weight crucial to the efficiency of carrying out different tasks.
