Piers Ottey paints in oils. He trained at Chelsea School of Art in London in the 1970’s. He has been painting ever since.
His work includes landscape, townscape and the figure. It often derives from his travels , often over extended periods to foreign parts , including Southern France, America, Spain, Switzerland, Greece and Denmark. The location always influences the work.
Each painting draws from the specific wonder and atmosphere of that unique place. Similarly, the figure paintings hope to capture the character of both the pose and of the sitter.
His work hangs in galleries, universities and private and corporate collections across the world including USA, New Zealand, France and Germany. He has exhibited and worked in London, the South of England and in France for many years.
