Deborah’s semi-abstract works include unique oil on paper monotypes, paintings, drawings and sculpture. They are described as romantic and expressive, capturing rhythm and movement, the changing light of night and day. All are inspired by her drawings made in situ and by the joy of material process. Thankfully she has been able to contnue during Covid-19 times. Her inspiration is drawn from the River Rother, the South Downs and the sea. Deborah grew up in rural West Sussex and enjoyed a highly creative career as a 2D and 3D designer and exhibition organiser in public museums. After rediscovering printmaking in 2010 she began to win prizes and recognition in open art competitions including the IOW Open, Strides Open and the Sussex Open at Pallant House. This kick-started her second career as a full-time artist since 2016.She is a member of the well-respected Chichester Artel artists group. Her work can also be found at several private galleries in Sussex and Hampshire
