Antony likes to work with pattern and illusion - stripping things back to their simplest form, or using light, to create effects. He often uses negative space to focus the eye and allowing the viewer’s mind to build the image. There are often subtleties within the minimalist simplicity. From a distance you may be fooled into thinking his more detailed works are photographs. Closer inspection reveals subtle use of a few colours only to create the illusion of detail and form.
Antony is employed by a local heritage site, as an Education Officer and resident artist. He leads art and craft-based courses, for all ages, which use the site as stimulus for new work.
