Aged 18, Betsey Hodgkinson has been working in the field of digital painting for three years, having been attracted to the medium partly by the stage-by-stage process involved, but also by the availability of an infinite number of colours. She also enjoys the links between digital work and the symmetry in mathematics. She finds her inspiration in a wide range of sources, from Japanese animation to classical sculpture, and her work has recently come to include calligraphy. She has enjoyed visiting Gallery Trail exhibitions in the past, and this will be the first time that she herself has exhibited.
