For the last thirty years Cheryl has run a gallery beside her studio, originally in London and since 2007, in Sussex. Over the years she has worked in different mediums but always in a realistic style. Sometimes realism is used symbolically, sometimes allegorically and sometimes with a simple lyricism.
The play of light and shade, the moods of morning and evening, the dappled shade of midday and the soft mists of autumn give rise to her small oil landscape sketches.
Larger landscapes contain a symbolic element, a deeper meaning that needs expressing. The subjects for her still life paintings are often allegorical in nature.
She welcomes visitors to her studio by appointment throughout the year and runs Open House events independently.
