Venue: The Victoria Institute, Tarrant Street
Tamar Rose is a Sussex based ceramic artist making richly textured decorative porcelain, born of a fascination with dramatic forms.
She works in porcelain because its translucent, almost ethereal quality lends itself to the forms that she creates - forms that emerge from her fascination with Victorian black and white illustrations, the stylised imagery of Ernest Haeckel and William Morris. A world where plants and creatures are captured and suspended in time.
