Katie Worsdell loves beads and has been collecting them from her travels around the world. Her bead work started after a trip to Goa when working as a yoga teacher. She started knotting beads with a thread to make malas which are used by the Hindus as a devotional practice to count mantras. Since then, her bead work has been exploring the many ways human beings make use of beads, not only to count prayers but also for their beauty using them as jewellery including necklaces, bracelets, rings, and in many more creative and innovative ways. From gemstones to fragrant wood, Katie also likes to create her own beads from seeds collected on her walks in West Sussex, flower petals such as roses, and discarded magazines as a way to upcycle beautiful printed paper.
