Process & Printing:
A lot of my work references marine and freshwater environments. I have lived on Chichester Estuary, West Sussex for thirty years, where the stormy seascapes and turbulent clouds draw me in. I seek out those moments where changing seasons cause colliding fronts and atmospheric upheaval. Big skies, stormy weather and amazing light. The natural environment is a constant interest, focusing on the intersections between humans and environment that people have with their part of the world. India’s rivers remain a constant interest, focusing on water, spirituality, and the concept of journey.
My printing process is Giclee prints on sustainable Hahnemuhle Bamboo Paper. I also work extensively with alternative photography techniques including Cyanotypes, salt, albumen printing and polymer photogravure.
Career:
I work as a full time fine art photographer and teach, running workshops from my studio and also leading special interest tours across India.
