I have always enjoyed the written word, in all its guises and genres, but it has only been in the last few years that I have discovered the pleasure of writing poetry. I love to tinker with the sounds of words and hope that these sounds mirror or even enhance their meanings.

Nature’s spaces, most usually the sea and the sky, are often my thinking and writing inspirations - a vast, extraordinary and timeless backcloth to my consideration of human conditions and frailties. Perhaps the writing I enjoy the most actually happens within that seascape setting; certainly the thinking does.

I have to date one published book of poetry, partially illustrated with my photos of the Sussex coast, and I am currently working on my next collection.
