My working life took place in a range of people-centred environments and the focus of my art reflects this. I am drawn to the human form as my subject matter and I love to spend time with each image, using media and techniques that seem appropriate to each one. This might be oils, charcoal or pastels, and sometimes monoprints. My main interest is not the creation of outer narratives but of the person’s inner landscape, portraying a variety of emotions, from introspection to joy.
