Claire is a Visual communication designer and when not at her desk she relaxes by hand building and throwing ceramics. She uses her design skills to create intriguing ceramic art and sculptural pieces. All her thrown works are created on a 1950’s treadle wheel (good for exercise) and everything else is made by Claire's hands. She loves using a mixture of techniques from different disciplines to create something visually stunning and unique.
Claire is always looking for ways to reduce her impact on the environment. She uses a treadle wheel, UK-sourced clays, and recycles all her clay. She also uses lower-temperature firing clays, such as earthenware or stoneware, to reduce the amount of energy used by the kiln.
Each year, she creates a distinctive range of unique pieces exclusively for the trail, showcasing her creativity and craftsmanship.
