I began exploring painting in my fifties. I started with various watercolour classes and teachers, from whom I have learnt so much. More recently I had a brief foray into acrylics, where I enjoyed the brightness of colour and freedom of expression. In the last year during lockdown, I have explored painting using pastels and discovered a whole new world that has opened up for me with my art. Many of my themes are reflective and contemplative with a particular focus on the landscape of Sussex where I live. I am passionate about reflecting that sense of place and especially the stillness, light and peace to be found in the middle of the woods or out on the Downs.
