Robin took his first ever photograph of Margaret Thatcher leaving the House of Commons using a pinhole camera made of a shoebox, held on an old science lab retort stand!
He began his photographic career working with large format cameras in a Fine Art Photography studio in London, moving on to work as a professional Photographers’ assistant, until he struck out on his own. After a number of years, Robin moved away from professional photography, but his passion for the craft never diminished, and since moving to the South Coast he has, in his wife’s words “returned to his first love”. The photographers’ skillset has changed enormously in recent years, and Robin is constantly expanding his artistic horizons by learning new techniques in both his photography and digital darkroom skills.
