In her paintings, Karin is continually involved with the complexity and transience of light play, which creates colours and reflections.
People, places and plants have always held her attention and she is fascinated by the effect of sunlight passing over her subjects.
Shadow shapes create areas of separate identity and can even disguise the subject. Her subject matter can change as she develops further areas of interest but, she explores deeply and becomes very involved with her subject, be it plants, places or people. Everything has a story.
She works primarily with oil on linen, charcoal and pencil on paper and will be further exploring printmaking later in the year.
