Mark Antony Haden Ford has been exhibiting since 1990 and developed his practice from painting and mark-making which also includes sand drawing. Continuing the lines of the drawings into weaving with found and grown natural materials in the realm of environmental sculpture in public and private sectors. He is based in Arundel, West Sussex, England.
The surreal installations and ambiguous sculptures encompass a wide range of traditional skills and practices of willow craft and habitat management. The woven artworks directly engage with the environment as semi-permanent sculptures based on seeds and plant forms and the potential of all things. He has a strong interest in the archaeology, geography and mystery of the natural world. He also teaches, is an events organiser and writer of children's books.
