'As a local artist, my work is rooted in a deep connection to the natural landscape. Time spent walking outdoors, observing shifting light, colour, and seasonal changes, forms the foundation of my creative practice. I draw particular inspiration from the local environment, finding richness in its quiet details and the interplay of colour and texture found in nature and I paint what moves me.
Alongside a long career in teaching and education, art has been a vital and restorative counterbalance. It began as a personal outlet, a way to slow down, reflect and reconnect and has grown into an essential part of how I see and respond to the world around me.
Through my work, I aim to capture not just what is seen, but what is felt: the calm, energy, and sense of presence that comes from being immersed in nature. In each piece I hope to convey an invitation to pause, to notice the beauty of the natural world.
