Sadie Tierney is a painter and printmaker based at Binnel Studios on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. She studied Fine Art at Newcastle University before completing an MA in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art. Her distinctive paintings and prints investigate the shifting character of landscape, translating direct observation into layered compositions that balance structure, atmosphere and abstraction.
This year, Tierney has two works selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Watercolour Society.
Her previous solo exhibitions include Flowers East and Rabley Gallery. Tierney's work is held in public and private collections across the UK and internationally, including the Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York; the National Museum in Gdańsk, Poland; Imperial Health Charity, London; Pallant House Gallery; Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery; Swindon Museum and Art Gallery; the Clifford Chance Collection; Eton College; the Royal College of Art; and the Royal Navy.
